The CopperTop has been a famous “townies” hangout since it opened. It is a great place to watch all the games. Laid back atmosphere, affordable food and drinks and friendly waitresses. Now it’s a great way to spend a Friday night (much better date night choice than a chick flick.) You go west over the Locust St. bridge and you see a small strip mall at the base of the bridge. And there lies the CopperTop Lounge. If you go at lunchtime, you’ll find the parking lot pretty full, but don’t worry; they’ve saved a seat for you.
On Tuesday through Friday the CopperTop offers a prodigious lunch buffet. Think fresh food, simply cooked. Think unbutton the top button of your jean quantity. Think hot, steamy, down home goodness (no, not the waitresses, the food) It’s an un-kind of buffet. Un-fussy. Un-expensive (yeah, we know that’s not a word. Sue us) Un-limited.
Their dinners are as bountiful as their lunches. On Tuesday the insiders know to order the All U Can Eat Chicken for only $6.25. On Friday, it’s the other white meat—All U Can Eat Walleye for only $6.50.
And on Saturday, Sunday and Monday it's $1 burgers and $1 French fries. Can I get an “Amen?”
To sum up, if you want hot food and plenty of it, then head West on Locust Street to the CopperTop Lounge.
